1. What are the basic objectives of Craftsman Training?: Ans – The basic objective of Craftsman Training Scheme is to equip youth with skill/set of skills through ITIs suitable for their wage/self employment. The scheme is governed under norms and standards prescribed by Government of India, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and are uniformly implemented across the Country. ITIs complying norms and standards are affiliated to National Council for Vocational Training, New Delhi. The trades are of 1 yr/2 semester or 2 years/4 semester duration. On successful completion of prescribed duration of training and achieving desired level of skill competency, the trainees appear All India Trade Test and awarded National Trade Certificates.
2. What is the number of Government ITIs in the State and how many are under Central Plan/CSP Schemes?: Ans– The State had 23 Government ITIs by 1999-2000 with sanctioned intake capacity of 3,752 seats which has been increased to 49 during 2017-18 with sanctioned intake capacity of 17,699 seats. Besides, 22 new Government ITIs have been sanction at various locations of the State. Government ITIs have been set up at LWE affected, Tribal predominated & Minority concentrated areas. Out of total 49 Government ITIs out of which 45 are NCVT affiliated and 4 are affiliated to SCTE&VT, Odisha. Out of these, 02 ITIs have been set up under Central Plan (MSDP) and 05 have been set up under CSP Scheme (LWE), rests are under State Plan scheme. Apart from this, 22 new ITIs are under process of constructions including 4 under Central Plan scheme (MSDP) and 01 under CSP scheme (LWE).
3. Which districts of the State have no Government ITIs ?: Ans. No Government ITIs are in Jagatsinghpur and Bhadrak which are under construction.
4. How many Sub-Divisions of the State have no Government ITIs ?: Ans – Out of 58 Sub-Divisions, 10 Sub-Divisions have no Government ITIs.
5. How many Blocks of the State have no ITIs ?: Ans – Out of 314 Blocks, 68 Blocks have neither Government nor Private ITIs.
6. What steps have been taken by Govt. for opening of ITI in 68 Blocks having No ITI ?: Ans:- For facilitating Vocational Education in Vacant or undeveloped Blocks proposal have been submitted to Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Ministry ,Govt. of India to open New ITI under Prime Ministers Kiousal Vikash Yojana under PPP mode.
7. Govt. have signed MoU with 34 Industries and How many of them have established ITI so far ? When rest Industries will set up ITI ?: Ans: Out of 34 Industries, 10 numbers have taken steps to set up ITCs and rests have been instructed to set up ITCs on possession of Land.
8. What is the Fee structure of ITI?: Ans:- For Govt. ITI Rs.4300/- for 1st Year and Rs.3700/- for 2nd Year in Engg. Trade. Exemption of Tuition fee for ST,SC& Physically Challenged trainees. For Private ITI fees are decided by Management. For enrolment of Girls trainee in ITI 30% reservation with other financial Assistance have been implemented through new Scheme ”Sudakhya”
9. What steps have been taken to create a talent pool of Trainers for improving quality of Training in ITIs ?: Ans:- Biju Pattnaik Institute for Training of Trainers (BPIToT), Talcher has been operationalised to train ITI Trainers for improving quality of training. Besides, IToTs are also being set up at Bhubaneswar and Jatni in suitable PPP mode.
10. What Support are provided for opening of ITI/ITC ?: Ans:- For opening of Private ITI investment are to be made by the management. However, Govt. facilitates for NCVT affiliation if infrastructure is there.
